Minnesota Glazing

This past week Terri, Cindy and I were all hard at work in Eden Prairie, Creating two different Decorative Glazing techniques in a family room, foyer, and hallway.  The job was intense, but we we couldn’t have been in a better atmosphere.  The clients are a wonderful and loving family, with a great appreciation for color.  They have the most beautiful and zesty green in there kitchen.

Terri put together some warm and rich finishes for them and we spent the week climbing up and down 25 ft scaffolding, moving the chandeliers, and basically performing a circus act.

Here are some photo’s from this past weeks project!

Helpful hint:  to de-fuzz your new rollers.  Stick a piece of tape under your shoe and extend the tape so you have a long strip.  Then you can roll the roller up and down the tape to get all the little fuzzies off.

BEFORE

Well, Jake and I finally got around to blasting the kitchen with some paint this past weekend.  We used recycled colors from jobs with left over paint to cut down on costs, and with the two of us on the walls the whole transformation only took us about 3 hours.  SKILLS.

When we moved in the upper and lower part of the kitchen were already painted a real artificially cheery blue.  It was trying to hard and it made us mad every time we went in there.  Since the place is going to be for sale sometime in the next year, I didn’t want to invest too much money into the room, so we went for some color on our furnishings instead.  We painted the table and the shelf, Benjamin Moore Pink Corsage 1349, and the lower half of the walls BM Bennington Gray, with the upper half a clean white.

Small space…trust me if we had our way the place would be wildy decked, but sometimes you just gotta work with what you got.  We found that just by changing the colors and adding some spice to the kitchen we were both instantly filled with relief and a sense of belonging at our home.  Not a bad feeling to have at home if I do say so myself.

Here is our after photos… the light is far superior in the before photo…but you get the idea.  If not come over for tea and see the real thing up close and personal!  xo LULU
