Benjamin Moore Color Forecast 2010

color-pulse

I received this invitation and wanted to share it with all of you who may have an interest in attending the Benjamin Moore color forecast for 2010.  Its a great way to stay hip to the upcoming color trends, or find some new shades of your currently favorite hues.  I love color forecasts because they always get your creativity buzzing, and help re-inspire, and give a whole new shape to my career as a professional painter.  I’ll hope to see you there!!!!!!

bronze_patina(photo from http://www.oldworldfaux.com/images/gallery/1/bronze_patina.jpg)

I’m excited to announce that I have joined forces with a two other women in businesses like mine.  Peg of Interiors of Stillwater, Terri of Addy’s Room and my company LULU Painting are coming together to expand our services and markets.  We can tackle larger jobs, get the work done more quickly and we are giving finishing demonstrations to local groups and organizations.  We are calling ourselves Patina Designs.

We will each hold onto our existing businesses, business names, phone numbers, web sites, etc.

On Monday, Patina Designs will be featured on Twin Cities Live, channel 5 @ 3:00.  We are promoting an upcoming conference we are demonstrating at for MAFCS (Minnesota Association of Family and Consumer Sciences) ((a bunch of homec-ers, around 100 sassy women)) on April 2nd.  I will not be the one in front of the camera (phew), we chose Terri to do that, but Peg and I will be there to cheer her on!

Minnesota Glazing

This past week Terri, Cindy and I were all hard at work in Eden Prairie, Creating two different Decorative Glazing techniques in a family room, foyer, and hallway.  The job was intense, but we we couldn’t have been in a better atmosphere.  The clients are a wonderful and loving family, with a great appreciation for color.  They have the most beautiful and zesty green in there kitchen.

Terri put together some warm and rich finishes for them and we spent the week climbing up and down 25 ft scaffolding, moving the chandeliers, and basically performing a circus act.

Here are some photo’s from this past weeks project!

Helpful hint:  to de-fuzz your new rollers.  Stick a piece of tape under your shoe and extend the tape so you have a long strip.  Then you can roll the roller up and down the tape to get all the little fuzzies off.

armor faux class 3.21.09 @ Sherwin Williams

The girls and I had our second class in a three part series for Sherwin Williams yesterday!  There was a great turn out and all the folks were very involved and asked insightful questions which made things even more exhilarating.

We taught folks all about Armor Faux ( a paint product that can be used as straight paint or as a plaster).  We gave the class some fun ideas of how to play with the product and add some dimension into there homes.  We demonstrated a knock down aged finish, a two level textured stencil finish fit with Spring colors, and a goofy kids room spiral girly gem stone mater piece.  I know what your thinking.. but NO, I didn’t teach the girly one…I did the stencil with fresh greens for Spring.

We all used colors from the 09 color collection and glazed over our works with Illusions glaze, available;e at Sherwin Williams.   Here are some photos of our finishes and the class.  Thank you Sherwin Williams for having us!  Thank you to everyone who came, this includes you Kyle!!! and an even bigger thank you to my talented partners Peg and Terri for always keeping fun, and inspiring!
